Battery Retainer
Overview#
A battery retainer is a fancy name for a battery holder. Frankly you can use either term interchangeable. Regardless of which name you use, the battery holder provides a mechanical and electrical connection between the PCB and the battery.
The image above shows surface mount coin cell battery retainer that can be directly soldered to a PCB.
